Palolem beach is a tract of white sand facing a blue bay between two headlands – a perfect crescent of white sand fringed by a shady rim of coconut palms and coco-huts. It is arguably still the best beach in Goa. The crowds have grown manifold over the years - a big change for a place that used to be a deserted paradise less than a decade ago.
Palolem is just 3 km away from Canacona Railway station, now on the Konkan Railway. You can hire taxis and auto-rickshaws to reach Palolem beach from Margao, 40 km away. There are regular buses from Margao to Palolem.
There are beautiful beach huts and family rooms to choose from in Palolem. Try to avoid the weekends, as there is a big crowd of picnickers who throng the beach on weekends.
