We stayed here during our Goa vacation last year, and were very pleased with our stay. Stepping out of the cab, I was impressed with the grand foyer area and the front desk personnel were all very helpful.

The room was gorgeous and spacious and the the service was 5 stars, with the staff being nice and helpful throughout the length of our stay. Aside from the dining options at this grand hotel there are several good eating and drinking places in this area, though menu prices generally reflect the upmarket nature of the area.

All in all, The Leela made our stay in Goa just lovely, and it felt like a real vacation. Highly recommended!

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday because he is a huge sea food fan and I was told that this is as fresh as it gets. It really is! The service is great, the food is incredible and the location is fantastic - we loved it! I definitely recommend it.

Palolem is as perfect as it can get!

Palolem is as perfect as it can get! First off the beach - is just as good as you may have heard and definitely Goa's most idyllic...the view from the top of the hillock at the southern end of the beach is just awesome. You're at the top of the hill, and looking down at one of Goa’s most beautiful stretches of coastline, a gorgeous sandy crescent cove lined with coconut palms and shacks and tree houses...amazing!

The village, inspite of the increasing tourism, retains a very rural feeling with a nice and easy pace of life and if you rise early and head to the beach you will see local fishermen hauling in hand-nets cast out in the bay with family members piling the catch into baskets...makes for a great photo-op.

The people are very nice, friendly and down-to-earth (just like the prices here!) and one gets to meet a very diverse crowd - from smoking backpackers and budget travelers to day-trippers from the package resorts further north to long-term visitors and hippies.

Unlike other South Goa beaches, Palolem is free of resorts and has just one large resort close by (the InterContinental Grand, a few kilometers south in Rajbaga). It has accommodations ranging from basic coco-huts (bamboo huts constructed on stilts using surrounding coconut trees as support) to swankier and stylish wooden beach houses equipped with air-conditioning and spacious hot-water bathrooms

Apart from the shacks on the beach, Palolem has plenty to offer in the way of restaurants and bars and it's well worth leaving the beach to explore the impressive restaurant range in Palolem.

As far as nightlife, its a great spot as well. The beach comes to life with pleasant lounge (and at times live music) as the sun sets and a range of options are available for eating/drinking/lounging/dancing with most of the places staying open until well after mid-night and beyond.

Apart from relaxing on the beach and swimming, Palolem offers a range of activities from water sports (boogie and surf boarding) to boat trips (fishing and dolphin spotting) to yoga, meditation courses and ayurvedic massage.

Well, what more do you want from a beach? You'll LOVE it and keep coming back for more!!!
