CCP to crack whip on tax defaulters

PANAJI: Faced with a financially weak position, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) on Monday decided to act tough with defaulters as the house tax arrears has jumped to 7.5 crore.

CCP to seal offshore casino offices in city

PANAJI: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has decided to get tough with the offshore casinos due to the problems they are causing to the city and its residents. CCP on Friday decided to seal the Panaji offices of all casinos operating in river Mandovi on grounds that the casinos were causing traffic problems in the city and blocking the river.

PANAJI: The days of lining up at the municipal corporation office to pay taxes may soon be passe.

PANAJI: Panaji mayor Surendra Furtado has on Friday directed the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) commissioner to issue an order to the Captain of Ports to stop construction work at the Panaji jetty between 10pm and 6am citing Supreme Court guidelines.

'Forensic block to be ready in a week'

PANAJI: The state-of-the-art forensic block and mortuary of the Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital in Bambolim which is in the final stages of being readied is expected to end the long-standing problem of the hospital for a bigger mortuary.
