MARGAO/PANAJI: Accusing the government of completing mutation cases of its favourites at a fast pace, the Congress has demanded simplification of the mutation process "so that they don't have to go from pillar to post" to get the mutation done.
PANAJI: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday refuted allegations made by Congress party that the mutation process of the property recently bought by chief minister Manohar Parrikar's son along with Krishnaraj Sukerkar was completed in one day.

MARGAO: The cloud of uncertainty hanging over who would organize Shigmo festivities in Margao was cleared after North Goa MP Shripad Naik inaugurated the first day of the 5-day long Shigmo programmes organized by the group headed by BJP spokesperson Damu Naik, at Ana Fonte garden, Margao, on Wednesday.
MARGAO: Miffed at the fact that they were denied permission to organize Shigmo festivities in Margao by South Goa district Collectorate N D Agrawal, the Shigmo committee led by Vasant Shirdokar served a legal notice to the Shigmo committee headed by former Fatorda MLA Damodar 'Damu' Naik over the use of the common committee name, 'Madgao Shigmotsav Samiti'.
MARGAO: With the presence of two rival organizing committees, Margao will play host to two Shigmo festivities-one affiliated to Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and headed by Vasant Shirodkar and the other headed by former Fatorda MLA Damodar 'Damu' Naik.
