PANAJI: The appointment of the new Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president is likely to be delayed by at least a few more days as there is no consensus among Congress leaders. All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and Goa desk in-charge Digvijay Singh had earlier said that the party would take a decision on the GPCC president post by the end of July. Sources said that this decision is expected to come in the first or second week of August.

Lohia Maidan echoes to 'Dabolim airport only'

Ravi Naik's Shigmo samiti moves HC

PONDA: Following an appointment of a committee by the government to organize Shigmo festivities in Ponda, Damu Naik, secretary of the 'Ponda Taluka Antruz Shigmotsava Samiti' has moved the high court of Bombay at Goa seeking rights to organize the festivity by his samiti. Former Ponda MLA Ravi Naik is heading the samiti.

PONDA: The former chief minister, Mr Ravi Naik on Thursday hit back at the government accusing it of politicising the Shigmo celebrations and said that the Ponda Taluka Antruz Shigmostava Committee members are ready to face even a lathicharge and can go behind bars but will go ahead with the Shigmo celebrations on March 27.
