AICC: Government harrasing Cong workers

PANAJI: All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and in-charge of Goa desk, Digvijaya Singh who is on a two-day visit to Goa, condemned the state government's "atrocities" against some Congress workers.

'Appointment of state Cong chief to take time'

PANAJI: As there is no clear consensus among the Congress leaders over the appointment of a new Goa Pradesh Congress committee (GPCC) president, the announcement of a new state party president may take some more time.

MARGAO: On the heels of the order passed by the administrator of comunidades, South zone, for effecting removal of 210 illegal structures at Moti Dongor, South Goa collector N D Agrawal on Thursday passed an order rejecting all the applications made to the comunidade of Margao for regularization of structures at Tolsanzor.

PANAJI: The state police complaints authority (SPCA) chairman retired justice RMS Khandeparkar said that there is a need to create awareness among the public about the SPCA's existence to enable people approach it for justice.

CLP guns for CM over longer school hours

PANAJI: The Congress legislative party (CLP) on Wednesday demanded that the government should retain the earlier school timings, which have now been increased by half-an-hour.

All Moti Dongor structures served notices

MARGAO: The office of the administrator of comunidades, South zone, has completed the exercise of serving its order for effecting removal of all encroachments on comunidade land at Moti Dongor. By Wednesday evening all occupants of the 210 illegal structures were served the notices, it was informed.

PANAJI: The state government's move to reduce reimbursement rates for dialysis treatment saw officials of Apollo Victor Hospital, Margao, suggest on Wednesday that the move may be influenced by "ulterior motives".

Moti Dongor slum dwellers served notices

MARGAO: A day after it passed the order for effecting removal of all encroachments on comunidade land at Moti Dongor, Margao, the office of the administrator of comunidades, south zone, on Tuesday, began the exercise of serving the orders on the 210 slum dwellers.

PANAJI: A delegation of 20 prominent citizens of Goa, including members of Goa RTI Forum, urged governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo on Tuesday to appoint all three information commissioners selected by the three-member high-powered committee last week and strengthen the commission to widen its scope of functioning.
