MARGAO: Yet another violation of rules in the construction of a building in the commercial capital has drawn the attention of the South Goa Planning and Development Authority; SGPDA has served a show cause notice to the builder for exceeding the floor area ratio.

'Rules changed for builders'

PANAJI: Building laws, regulations and definitions are being deviously changed by the government to favour builders. This was stated by architect Hyacinth Pinto, citing examples of how balconies are increasingly enclosed to increase FAR and setbacks reduced to 1 mt.

Construction industry in doldrums in Goa

HC takes suo moto cognizance

PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has taken suo moto cognizance of illegal constructions within CRZ area, in Mandrem village.

MARGAO: Ms Shanty Fortes, on Tuesday, under the banner of Orlim Guan Rakhon Manch (OGRM) complained to the senior town planner and the flying squad, that massive land filling is going on at low lying fields at Orlim, without the required permission being obtained.

MARGAO: Curtorim villagers have expressed their firm resolve to oppose the proposed multi-dwelling housing complex at Dantoloi, Vagulem, Maina-Curtorim as the panchayat body has called the builder on December 4 for discussions before their decide on the issue.

PANAJI: Deletion of a clause in Goa land development and building construction regulations 2010, as suggested by the Indian institute of architects (IIA), Goa, which restricts the use of commercial space for residential purpose to only 5%, has kicked off a row with a section of professionals alleging it would further burden the inadequate infrastructure.

Curtorim villagers kick Talak project out

MARGAO: Wishing to send a strong message that they would not allow mega real estate projects in Curtorim, hundreds of villagers attended a special gram sabha and passed a resolution opposing the construction of a multi-housing complex at Dantoloi, Vagulem, Maina-Curtorim, on Sunday.
