But the haunted places of Goa and the stories associated with them are very fascinating. Though only brave hearts can make their Goa trip adventurous by adding these places to the list.

Here are some of the most haunted places in Goa and their spooky stories are also mentioned here to intrigue your interest. If you want to sense some unusual experience besides the conventional parties, clubbing and beach walking, you can not afford to miss these places.

1. Baytakhol

This haunted place is located between the stretch of Dhavali and Bori. It is believed that a girl roams on the road and makes spine-chilling screams. After hearing these horrible screams people lose control of their vehicles and this leads to many severe accidents.

Some people also claim that they have seen a girl standing in the middle of the road after passing she becomes invisible. Many drivers also tell that they felt someone was sitting in the back seat of their car.

2. D’mello House

This is a big lavish abandoned house where one can hear and see some abnormal activities. The people who visit this house tell that they felt someone walking inside the house and the sound of his footsteps was audible. Apart from it they also heard the cracking sound of window glasses.

If you dig into the past, you find a horrible incident happened here. It is said that the house was owned by two brothers and both wanted to take the entire authority of this house. Regular fiascos between them ended with the death of one of the brothers. Since that day the house transformed into a haunted place.

3. Saligao Village –

15 kilometers far from the capital Panjim, this small village is known for its many churches but locals also narrate a haunted story about it.

This story is about a lady named Cristlina. People also tell that she is living on a banyan tree for six decades and scares people who pass through that area. The locals also tell that once a Portuguese man suddenly disappeared and when people found him, he was in so much pain due to the gruesome scratches and wounds.

4. Jakni Bandh

The visitors who pass this bridge at the night hear some crying sounds of children. These frightening sounds of children are linked with a very tragic story.

The people who live in nearby areas narrate a story behind this. They say that a school bus full of children fell due to the mistake of the bus driver. All the passengers who were present on the bus were killed. At that time the bridge was under construction. Since then the place is counted among the most haunted places in Goa.

5. Sina Hotel or Ghost Hotel

Sina hotel which is also known as Ghost hotel was built by Russian people. However, they left it incomplete as they found some supernatural powers were creating a hurdle in the construction.

It is also said that the head people who were owning the properties were also killed by the ghosts. One can see the owner roaming freely inside the hotel if he/she visits this spooky place. Many other paranormal activities were also noticed by the visitors which were enough to frighten them.

6. Three kings’ Church

Being surrounded by a mystical aura, this church is a must-visit place if you want to experience some different and haunted activities.

The church was ruled by three kings back then but everyone wanted to establish his authority over the church. They fought with each other and this ended in their death. It is said that the dead bodies were found on the ground of the church. The people who come here to visit this scary place say that they sensed the presence of some spirits here.

7. National Highway  17

This haunted highway is also known as the Mumbai Goa highway. Though the highway is surrounded by lush greenery, it becomes haunted after midnight, especially for those who carry non-vegetarian edible items with them.

People believe that some witches roam on the highway in the search of their food. If someone carries nonveg items with them, these witches create a hurdle for them. They either stop the vehicle or the driver loses control of it. But they never trouble the passers who do not carry nonveg food with them. It is advised to travelers not to carry such food with them while passing through this haunted highway.

8. Borim bridge

The haunted Borim bridge story is related to a mad woman. People also narrate that if someone approaches the lady and tries to save her, she jumps into the river. You can not see any activity or ripples in the water and there will be no sound of splash after her jump.

Some people also saw her sitting in their car or another vehicle in the back seat while they were crossing the bridge. Usually, people avoid it using after midnight.

9. Igorchem Bandh

Usually, people believe that haunted places become less effective during the daytime in comparison to midnight. But Igorchem bandh breaks all these myths and makes you realize the presence of spirits during the daytime as well, especially between 2-3 pm.

People say that they heard the sound of walking a person along with them when they were passing through this road in the afternoon time. If your wish is to visit this haunted place, you must avoid visiting between 2-3 pm. Else your every step coerces you closer to the unnatural spirits.

 Location- It is located behind the church of lady snow in Raia village, Goa.

10. Seminary arch

This arch is an entry gate of Rachol village and it is considered a horror place. It is believed by the locals of the village that a soldier guards the village against any stranger entering there.

People who live here also say that the soldier has been guarding the village since the Portuguese were ruling over Goa. The soldier spirit dresses up in his official uniform and walks into the vicinity. He stops any visitor from entering the village whom he finds unworthy or new.

11. The Rodrigues home

This haunted place was once the home of the Rodrigues family and people say that the family member never left the home even after their death. From the outside, you can see a nice house but the activities that happen inside the home are quite horrible.

People who visited this home or passed by it told that they listened to the sound of opening and closing the door continuously, and they saw the flickering lights and moving objects inside Rodrigues’s home.

Location – This haunted mansion is located 10 kilometers far from Margao in the north direction.

12. Dona Paula beach

Though the beach is considered one of the best tourist spots in Goa but a spooky story is also associated with the beauty of this beach.

People tell about past incidents that happened here. They say the daughter of a Portuguese viceroy fell in love with a fisherman but the family did not accept their relationship. Hence the girl ended her life. People also tell that she appears in the moonlights wearing a pearl necklace after midnight. It is also called a lovers’ paradise.

Location- At a distance of 7 kilometers from Panjim.
